Internship in Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha: Exciting!

By the way, I try to write this in English due to my goals of improving my english which I consider to write this article in English (pst, pardon me if I'm not good at writing, try to rebuild my mood because the last time I constantly writing is when I was in senior high school, the exact time is when I joined DetCon Competition).

So, Why I choose this company as my internship place? because as my background in Business Law, I slightly difficult to find which company that really suit my background - until I found this company and for those who seek for intern place and you; from Business Law, and you live in Surabaya! HAHA then maybe this article will help you.

Applying to KPPU is easy guys, believe me. I dont need to wait for couple months to be informed and get accepted in this company. I apply it by myself -- not by the recruitment that held by organization in campus (at that time there were several organizations that open recruitment for internship but in different company), so I had my own internship proposal (which I got it from senior, Thanks!) - put it into Academic Field in my campus and the other administration process I have done by myself, and the administration process took about 2-3 weeks, and then after we completed the required documents, we went to KPPU to apply (we: because the interns are Me, Indah and Nina) and the people there were so helpful and friendly, sadly at the first time we give the proposal, the officer said that the date that we chosen already fullybooked, and then we have to choose another date, and here it come: 10 Januari 2018 - 31 Januari 2018.

Long story short, Here comes to the first day of internship, coming at 8.00 in the morning and go to 7th floor is what we gonna do for not more than 20 days, my impression was like "Oh, It actually only have one floor, one big room that consist of several rooms inside, and the other room for the assembly" nothing can be explained since all we can do is adapt and the things that we do are reading literature about business competition law and browsing about the highlight issues about business competition, so simple right?

Indeed, I don't want either if the first day of activities is repeated for another couple of days. Maybe few days at the start of the internship we got nothing to do, but the next days we have to analyze about the regulation, we have to analyze about the movement of the rice price in "siskaperbapo", we have to looking for regulations in the needs of inspection, make a report about the market inspection (that finally I had a chance to experienced it), joined a regular meeting with stakeholders, many more.

So, What's the best among all of the activities?
- Involved in several market inspections! and make a report about the activities regarding the inspections. It was very exciting yet feeling weird too at the first time, because I never imagine that I will do this thing
- We have paper presentation! The interns before me used to presentate a topic in groups, but in my period we have to presentate it by our own self! We did research and consultation about the topic with the employees there, the topic must related to business competition, and at that time my topic was "Predatory Pricing yang dilakukan oleh Perusahaan Penyedia Jasa Transportasi Berbasis Online" because that issues was really controversial at that time. I never been that nervous at presenting things, but not for this, because I feel like my knowledge is not as experts as the employees that worked there that makes me afraid and keep wondering what if analysis that I have made is wrong hahahaha, but turns out good, happy!
- Additional reason: because of those "Bapak Bapak Penjual Gorengan" that always knocks our room around 10 a.m. haha, we're never starving, believe me!

What I really like in this company is we are not only talk about law but we have to relate with Economic sides, It's something new, I mean I learned about Business Law etc but by involved in this company directly, It was different, something that I couldn't find in Law School, and also the ambience of working here: because the employees are millenials.

And after those benefit and experiences, without any doubt, just like basic-intern student gained; Supply of snacks and foods (hahaha) and new friends, for me I got friends one from FH UGM and two from FE UNAIR.

For you, who still pursuing bachelor degree, take your time to get an internship, or in case you are curious about working life, internship might be your choice.
